German geographical game - possibly pre-ww2 - 1920-1935

The box cover to this geographical game is "GEOGRAPHISCHES LOTTO EUROPA“ and measures 340 x 265 x 40 mm in fairly good to good condition: Produced by the company Scholz and under Nr. 432.

The box set contains six map cards of areas of Europe each measuring 250 x 215 mm and having 15 numbered circles printed on important cities. For each city a flag of the relevant country is provided so, for example, the Great Britain and Ireland map card has 13 cities in the UK, one in the Irish Republic and one rather strangely one in Reykjavik, hence 13 Union Jacks are provided and one flag of Ireland and one of Iceland.

For the German possessions there are two options: swastika flags (all present) or the black-white-red Deutsches Reich flag (one missing – only flag missing from box although one or two may be later replacements!). All the flags have pins – all have gone rusty – to pin the flag into their respective board. The game also contains 30 question cards and the game´s rules are printed (in German of course) on the inside of the box lid.

The whole thing is in very nice condition, only played with a couple of times (from condition of pinholes) and believed to be complete except for the original paper bags which would have contained the flags of the boards. From the area shown on the maps and the inclusion of two alternative types of German flag the game most likely dates to 1930-1936.

This game is for sale at €65 with free postage to Europe only which does not include insurance or tracking (approx. €5 extra).
