German geographical game - possibly pre-ww1 - 1920

This game has its original box cover: "Reise durch Oberbayern und Tirol“ and measures 400 x 350 x 40 mm in fairly good to good condition. This is another game by the company: Scholz Nr. 853. gez. (drawn by) von Emil Heinsdorff. Published by Verlag von Jos. Scholz, Mainz.

The box has two corners with later strengthening, but retaining the maker´s original label on one side. Contains one large folding playing board measuring approx. 700 x 520 mm with illustration of Munich (numbered 68) 290 x 180 mm in centre and surrounded by 67 attractive pictures of places to be visited, each numbered and named in the image. The player begins at number 1 – top left München – and travels clockwise around the board to return to München, 68, in the centre of board.

The game rules are printed (in German of course) on the inside of the box lid. The game also still contains the original tin playing figures which represent hikers. Three figures are complete, two have lost their feet (stands) and one has lost her head! Also contains the original net bag (now very fragile) which may have contained play money but now has small squares of paper.

Still in very nice condition, only played with a couple of times (from condition of board) and believed to be complete except possibly for the play money and damage to three figures and there must have been a dice with the game when new. (Any modern dice could of course be used.) From area shown on maps most likely dates to circa 1920.
